Join us and Plainfield Public Library for a two-Day Irish Genealogy Workshop presented by the Ulster Historical Foundation to discover resources to success.

Irish Genealogy: Resources for Success Agenda

Morning:

  • Introduction to Irish and Scots-Irish Family History Research

  • Genealogy Resources County by County

  • Importance of Gravestone Inscriptions

  • Newspapers as a Source for Irish Research

Afternoon:

  • Introduction to Archives in Ireland

  • Irish Poor Law and Local Government

  • Irish Education and School Records

  • Using the Registry of Deeds

Participants will enjoy light snacks, handouts, door prizes and the opportunity to purchase Ulster Historical Society books during the program. Please bring a brown bag lunch or pre-order a box lunch from Brooks Cafe. Box lunches can be ordered by email at brookscafe@ymail.com or by phone at 630.685.4295.
