Back by popular demand! In partnership with Plainfield Public Library, we are hosting a full day Irish Genealogy Workshop with the Ulster Historical Foundation. This program is free; however, attendance is limited to 60 in our main meeting room, and 25 in our overflow webinar room. Due to the popularity of this event, walk-in registration may not be available. Registration opens August 13.

MORNING SESSION
- 9:30–10:30 a.m.: Introduction to Irish and Scots-Irish Research
- 10:30–11:30 a.m.: Understanding Irish Townlands: the Importance of Place, Identity and Administrative Divisions
- 11:30 a.m.–noon: MORNING BREAK
- Noon–1 p.m.: Church Records for Use in Genealogical Research Including Lesser Known Administrative Records (Vestry Minute books, Communicant Rolls, etc...)
- 1–1:30 p.m.: LUNCH BREAK
AFTERNOON SESSION
- 1:30–2:30 p.m.: Using Printed Sources for Irish Family History: Newspapers, Street Directories, Ordnance Survey Memoirs and British Parliamentary Papers on Ireland
- 2:30–3:30 p.m.: Using Landed Estate Records: Tracing Families in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century
- 3:30–4 p.m.: AFTERNOON BREAK
- 4–4:30 p.m.: Law and Order Records in Ireland
- 4:30–5 p.m.: Question and Answer Session (includes online database lookups)
